Christine & Jono — Micro Wedding

Christine & Jono make a strong case for the 'Micro Wedding'

After the disappointment of having to cancel an international wedding due to Covid-19, Christine & Jono made a last-minute decision to celebrate their day within our picturesque Australian boarders.

Whilst the couple made the difficult decision to reduce numbers, this didn’t stop them from going full-steam ahead with their suppliers. Photographer Mitch Pohl, Wiluna Flowers, hair & makeup artists, a videographer & more were all present on the day, ready to ensure Christine & Jono’s twenty person wedding was one for the ages. It was.

In what some would consider a risky move, Christine & Jono visited Mona Farm for the very first time two weeks prior to their wedding day. Lucky for them (and us!) they were blown away by the gardens, the animals and by the team.

Christine & Jono married in the last week of April. On the day itself, the trees were golden, Christine looked radiant and Jono’s smile lit up the room.

Here’s Christine & Jono’s Micro Wedding — through the lens of Milk & Blossom and Mitch Pohl

We spoke to Christine about the day itself. Here’s what she had to say.

Three words to describe my wedding day are:
Intimate, joyful, serene

The best part of the day was:
It's so difficult to pinpoint an exact moment as the day was such a dream, but it's hard to ignore the calm and deliberate pace our smaller guestlist allowed, and the abundance of time we had to share with our loved ones.

I was most surprised about:
How relaxing the day was. I put that down to the exceptional team at Mona Farm and the beautiful vendorsI chose to work with on the day.

In the lead up to the wedding, I spent too much time:
Getting hung-up on an international wedding.

I didn’t spend enough time:
Appreciating how beautiful our home is and the abundance of spectacular venues like Mona Farm.

My favourite part about getting married at Mona Farm was:
The ease. It was truly a seamless experience. From my initial conversations with Romy, working closely with Paisley in the lead-up, to having the most brilliant on-site support from Julien, the quality of service, professionalism and attention to detail didn't skip a beat. Jono and I left the farm feeling like family. A very, very special experience.

If I could do it again I would:
Stay longer. The farm is otherworldly in beauty; it's very hard to leave.

My advice to future brides would be:
Quality over quantity. Smaller, intimate weddings allow you to spend your day with the people that matter the most, and you can spoil them (and yourself) with a high quality experience.
