Sample Weekend Itinerary

 



Thursday | Arrival & Welcome Event

  • Wedding couple arrives to Mona Farm and meets with the Hospitality Director, Michael De Wet, to run through all event details and drop off stationary, guest favours & personalised items for the wedding.

  • Wedding guests to arrive at Mona Farm estate and check into their allocated guest house. Personalised door hangers provide a thoughtful touch to show people which room they are staying in.

  • With a glass of Champagne in hand, the wedding party runs through the wedding ceremony and practices their entrance to the reception.

  • Guests are invited to join the couple in The New Stables for the Welcome Dinner. Mona Farm will set the space with relaxed outdoor furniture and will also set the bar, organise glassware, provide ice & ice buckets, cutlery, speakers & a microphone if needed. From formal sit-down events through to a relaxed pizza menu, Mona Farm’s Executive Chef has designed a range of menus to choose from.

 

Friday | Wedding Day

  • The Mona Farm team delivers eggs, bacon, sourdough, seasonal fruit and accompaniments to each guest house.

  • A guided beginner’s yoga session aimed to energise the body and prepare the group for the day ahead.

  • Put together a suggested itinerary for your guests to explore the heritage-listed town of Braidwood, including a visit to our sister businesses; The Albion Café or Provisions Deli & Creperie. From browsing for fashion finds at the local Vinnies to custom fashion designs at Saloon Design House to popping by the Braidwood Museum to learn about Braidwood’s colourful past featuring gold rushes, bushrangers, Hollywood; there is plenty to explore in Braidwood township.

  • Create some unforgettable memories while bonding with the boys during a two-hour fly fishing lesson on Mona Farm’s Lake, which is kept well-stocked with a healthy rainbow trout population.

  • A selection of wraps, seasonal salads and gourmet baguettes are delivered to the wedding party in their respective guest houses.

  • Greet your guests with a sparkling station set in The Rose Garden, offering a glass of Champagne and a refreshing San Pellegrino sparkling water

  • Ceremony formalities.

  • Guests are ushered to The Homestead Lawn for the post-ceremony drinks. An acoustic music duo plays in the background as guests enjoy roving canapés and signature cocktails.

  • The newly married couple pours the Champagne Tower, creating an elegant photo opportunity for guests. Guests are invited to enjoy freshly shucked oysters accompanied by a delicious Champagne & French shallot vinaigrette, pairing perfectly with the Champagne Tower.

  • Welcome speech from either Bride & Groom or VIP guest.

  • Guests invited to walk over The Bridge and along Pear Tree Lane to the reception, where they are greeted by Mona Farm’s resident Highland Cows who are always happy to pose for photos.

  • Guests begin the evening with an entrée of duck tortellini with beetroot puree, pine nut & currant dressing or herb crusted tuna with tuna mayo, fennel salad & avruga.

  • Italian porchetta with fresh fennel & rosemary, roasted potatoes, seasonal greens and bistecca all fiorentina is served.

  • Slip away to enjoy a quiet moment together as newlyweds, and capture some sunset pictures. There is often time for a quick dress change now as well.

  • After the final speech, the couple cut the wedding cake and have their first dance.

  • Kick off the dancefloor with an Espresso Martini from the perfectly balanced, six-tier tower.

  • Lychee & coconut panna cotta, mandarin sorbet and a rich chocolate mousse with edible flowers is served roving to guests. Mona Farm’s White Chocolate & Raspberry wedding cake served canapé style to guests. Artisan coffee & specialty tea available at the bar.

  • A late night snack of mini cheeseburgers and shoestring fries are served.

  • Bar closes at 11.00pm, latest conclusion time & last bus departure for offsite guests at 11:30pm. Onsite guests return to their accommodation (perhaps gathering for a nightcap and debrief at The New Stables first).

 

Saturday | Recovery Lunch

  • Finska, Corn Hole and of course, Croquet, are set up at The Croquet Lawn.

  • Featuring smoked beef brisket cooked over local timbers, barbequed corn cobs, potato salad with cornichons & Dijon mustard and more, this is a theatrical yet relaxed menu. Pair this with Bloody Mary cocktails and an Aperol Spritz so guests can continue the celebrations.

  • Enjoy some leftover White Chocolate & Raspberry wedding cake from the night before.

  • Grazing platters are delivered across the estate for guests to enjoy in the comfort of their own accommodation.

 

Sunday | Departure

  • Check out of your accommodation and farewell your guests, who will all be raving about the ‘best wedding they’ve ever been to’. Stop by one of our sister businesses, Provisions or The Albion in Braidwood on your way back home.
