A contemporary sculpture collection can be found amongst the gardens. This features the most significant single collection of Peter Lundberg sculptures on one Australian property, most notably the ‘Mona O’ and ‘Dancing Man’ constructed onsite.
artistic collaborations
“Situated in the heritage-listed town of Braidwood, perched high in the NSW Southern Tablelands, luxury accommodation and events estate Mona Farm has opened the doors to its newest residence, Tidmarsh. A juxtaposition of old and new, the historic two-storey fieldstone property – split between the main house and Long Barn building – is modelled on an early 19th century Irish Inn. A hand-cut bloodwood shingled roof and granite exterior cloaks six bedrooms, a brick French-style courtyard and original 1850s bar…”
We’re delighted to showcase our latest artistic collaboration ‘GREAT HAIR, DON’T CARE’ with young Australian artist, Genevieve McConnell. Genevieve works across illustration, painting, ceramics and printmaking in an aesthetic that is stylised and bold. Her art practice celebrates unusual observations, overheard conversations, unexpected interactions and memorable phrases. The result? Incredibly original artworks and prints with a dash of humour for good measure.
Inspired by the winter gardens here at Mona Farm, Flower Pioneer, Saskia Havekes foraged an array of twigs, branches and winter florals to create a breathtaking tablescape that embodies ‘the beauty of winter’. Arguably one of the estate’s most enchanting seasons, Saskia documented her stay through a visual diary, photographed by Gary Heery.
Here at Mona Farm, Australian art is part of our D.N.A, so when the opportunity came up to partner with Arts-Matter, well, we jumped at it. Featuring a painting class with artist Louis Wayling, a Haiku lesson with RUSSH contributing Editor Anna Harrison & dinner by Alex & Trahanas, the Mona Farm x Arts-Mater winter weekend was bursting with creativity. Here’s a few words from Arts-Matter Co-Founder, Susan Armstrong.
