We went behind the scenes with Tash, from Natasha Maree Photography to find out all about her wedding photography business.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS...

A bit about me.....I grew up here in Canberra, I like to think I know Canberra and surrounds pretty well but every now and then it surprises me with hidden gems for photo locations!

Family was the inspiration for me starting my business. After having my first son, I realised how quickly time passes! This really catapulted me into my photography journey, I didn't want to miss a thing, so i bought my first DSLR and enrolled into a photography course and thats pretty well where it all began.

Now I document families, weddings, engagements, newborns; all the beautiful milestones in life. I capture these precious moments for others, the same way I love to capture my family’s, with love and care. I’m so grateful that such wonderful people entrust me to preserve these memories.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF BEING A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

Being a part of such a beautiful celebration of love between two people and not only the bride and groom and the celebration of their love, but the love that their friends and family have for them. It's really something so special to be apart of and to document those moments, preserving them forever... Im truly humbled that Im able to be apart of that.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS COUPLES ASK YOU?

Oooh this is a good one, some main questions…

Do I have a second shooter?

Nope, it's just me, I'm the lone ranger. If I think we need a second shooter, there's some amazing photographers that can come help us out. I haven't needed a second shooter as yet.

What’s your style of photography?

I love to capture natural, genuine moments, sometimes these are the moments that happen when when you think I'm not watching, it's when people are most comfortable and themselves. I'll often turn around to find family having a laugh, the bride and groom having a quiet moment. I love these moments and I would say that’s my style. The tones I use in my imagery are earthy tones, so a little moody, but there’s lots of fun in my images and genuine laughter, a lot of light and love.

How long have you been doing photography?

Approximately 7 years - I started with family photography and have gradually moved into weddings.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR COUPLES RE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?

I'd say to meet with your photographer prior to your wedding, to ask any questions you may have and get to know each other a little bit before your big day! Have a chat to your photographer about how they like to shoot, what photos are most important to you, ie the details, family and what your ideal wedding photo would be. You'll be relaxed and know what to expect from you photographer on your wedding day and your photographer will know how to capture your day the way you'd love it to be told.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT SHOOTING WEDDINGS AT MONA FARM?

Where do I start, it's such a beautiful venue! It's a photographer’s dream and there are so many spots for amazing photo's for wedding photography. The stone bridge, the farm house, the bluebells, paddocks, sheep, cattle, art work. It’s got such an amazing feel to it.
