Artist in Residence — Genevieve McConnell

We’re delighted to showcase our latest artistic collaboration ‘GREAT HAIR, DON’T CARE’ with young Australian artist, Genevieve McConnell. Genevieve works across illustration, painting, ceramics and printmaking in an aesthetic that is stylised and bold. Her art practice celebrates unusual observations, overheard conversations, unexpected interactions and memorable phrases. The result? Incredibly original artworks and prints with a dash of humour for good measure.

Artist in Residence — Saskia Havekes of Grandiflora

Inspired by the winter gardens here at Mona Farm, Flower Pioneer, Saskia Havekes foraged an array of twigs, branches and winter florals to create a breathtaking tablescape that embodies ‘the beauty of winter’. Arguably one of the estate’s most enchanting seasons, Saskia documented her stay through a visual diary, photographed by Gary Heery.

Here at Mona Farm, Australian art is part of our D.N.A, so when the opportunity came up to partner with Arts-Matter, well, we jumped at it. Featuring a painting class with artist Louis Wayling, a Haiku lesson with RUSSH contributing Editor Anna Harrison & dinner by Alex & Trahanas, the Mona Farm x Arts-Mater winter weekend was bursting with creativity.
